What we do

Throughout the year, the Briar Chapel garden club organizes events to allow club members to socialize and share in the bounty from our gardens.

Our plans for 2019

Talk by Matt Jones of Chatham County Ag Center (April 11th at 7pm)

Matt Jones of the Chatham County Ag Center will present "Using Native Plants to the Benefit of our Ecosystem".  Matt Jones will share his recommendations on native plants that help maintain a healthy ecosystem by attracting pollinators, beneficial insects and birds.  Talk will be held at the Briar Chapel Clubhouse.

Open House/Garden Tour (June 1st at 3pm)

We will hold an open house at our Boulder Park garden.  We will be giving tours of the garden and sharing information about our gardening club.  All residents of Briar Chapel are welcome.

Cooking Class with Dan Taylor - July 20th 2-4pm

Learn to cook some Mediterranean dishes with vegetables and herbs from the gardens

Tour of Brie Arthur's Home Garden - July 26th at 10am

Brie Arthur is a local gardening expert.  She presented "The Foodscape Revolution" last year and this year has invited us to visit her home gardens at 7624 Troy Stone Drive, Fuquay Varina, NC 27526

​

Harvest Dinner - October 26th from 6-8pm at the Briar Chapel Clubhouse

This is our annual celebration.  Everyone brings a dish to share and your own beverage of choice.  Time to enjoy our harvest.

Growing and Preserving Culinary Herbs (September 12th at 7pm) at the Clubhouse

Matt Jones of the Chatham County Ag Center will be presenting.  Come learn how to preserve herbs for use throughout the winter.

Light Up Boulder Park

Lighting up and decorating our Boulder Park garden has become a holiday tradition.
